Today, I launched a project on Kickstarter in an attempt to fund the illustration and publication of my children's book Sasha, the Shape-shifting Cat.
Sasha is an indoor cat, but he really would like to go outside! Since Sasha's human doesn't let him outside, one day Sasha thinks so hard about it that he changes shapes ... and is finally able to experience what it's like to be outside. Once there, however, things are a little more complicated than he realized.
It's a short, early-reader children's book (intended for age 3–5, or 4–6). It's about 50 words total, and 28 pages, much of which needs to be illustrated. I'm a writer, not an artist, and in an effort to publish this as an artisanal publishing project, look to the power of democratization to fund this portion of the project.
Take a look; if the project seems interesting, I hope you'll consider donating, or at least passing on the link to someone who might be interested.
